We had a new big hit at the TNNA show in Phoenix – Sari Ribbon:

What’s great about this sari yarn compared to others you’ve surely seen on the market is that it is not reprocessed and spun – which means the colors of each sari stay separate, one into another. This creates a really beautiful variegated, almost Noro-like effect.

The other big hit was our variegated sock yarn, especially in Coconut Grove and Bad Romance:

Coconut Grove and Bad Romance

This all brings to mind Diana Vreeland’s old line: “Pink is the Navy Blue of India.” So, this spring, embrace your inner Bollywood!

I had never heard of this Yarn Bombing before I saw this article.   David Cole starting the trend in Melborne Australia when he decorated a bridge with knitting.  I would call those swatches for King Kong. :)   It has the look and feel of Christo from back in the 80′s

Knitting Wrapsody Kristen Omdahl is releaseing a new book featuring patterns with a theme relating to items that can be wrapped, whether around the neck, shoulders, or waist. All of the garments incorporate interesting elements, from reversible stitch patterns and unique knitted edgings to interesting closures. Each project is knitted, but much of the aesthetic draws inspiration from the geometry, motifs, and techniques of crochet.

Some of the techniques are quite unusual and readers will benefit from watching the enclosed DVD to see some of them demonstrated before casting on for a project.

The release date for A Knitting Wrapsody Book & DVD is January 22, 2011. You can pre-order it at amazon.com or Interweavestore.com, but if you want a personalized, signed copy for yourself or the knitter in your life, you can pre-order from me HERE.  (Pretty neat !)
