Planet Earth Fiber was selected as one of the prod­ucts fea­tured in the lastest Book by Marinda Stew­art called ‘Punch­nee­dle: The Com­plete Guide’.

Punch­nee­dle is a type of embrodery where the fab­ric is stretched over a hoop and then a spe­cial nee­dle is used to punch the fiber through the fab­ric, cre­at­ing loops.  The fin­ished results can resem­ble minia­ture hooked rugs but the pieces cre­ated are gen­er­ally quite small.The book cov­ers the tools and mat­te­ri­als requred.  Each tech­nique is illus­trated with a small sam­ple and instruc­tions so that you can include it in your own project.

The “Sum­mer Sol­stice” is a stun­ning cardi­gan sweater using Tilli Tomas Raw Silk and Planet Earth Beaded Silk. The Planet Earth Beaded Silk are smaller put‐ups of the same gor­geous silk of Tilli Tomas yarn. There is plenty to use as a col­lar, cuffs or bor­der of a sweater. The “Sum­mer Sol­stice” uses it for an I‐cord.

New Pattern — Summer Solstice

Aurora Pattern

Knit N’ Style fea­tures the pat­tern Aurora on page 44 of the Feb­ru­ary, 2009 issue.  The aurora is a jade sweater which has an accented col­lar using the Planet Earth Beads. The instruc­tions are on page 83.  Be the first to be the first in your knit­ting group to under­take this project.
