“Punchneedle: The complete Guide” by Marinda Stewart

Planet Earth Fiber was selected as one of the products featured in the lastest Book by Marinda Stewart called ‘Punchneedle: The Complete Guide’.

Punchneedle is a type of embrodery where the fabric is stretched over a hoop and then a special needle is used to punch the fiber through the fabric, creating loops.  The finished results can resemble miniature hooked rugs but the pieces created are generally quite small.The book covers the tools and matterials requred.  Each technique is illustrated with a small sample and instructions so that you can include it in your own project.

Download – Summer Solstice

The “Summer Solstice” is a stunning cardigan sweater using Tilli Tomas Raw Silk and Planet Earth Beaded Silk. The Planet Earth Beaded Silk are smaller put-ups of the same gorgeous silk of Tilli Tomas yarn. There is plenty to use as a collar, cuffs or border of a sweater. The “Summer Solstice” uses it for an I-cord.

New Pattern – Summer Solstice

Aurora Pattern

Knit N’ Style features the pattern Aurora on page 44 of the February, 2009 issue.  The aurora is a jade sweater which has an accented collar using the Planet Earth Beads. The instructions are on page 83.  Be the first to be the first in your knitting group to undertake this project.
