The mood to knit of course! And a little crochet, for those of you who are more experimental.
 Wendy Knits Lace
Wendy Knits Lace by Wendy D. Johnson is a beautiful compendium of lace patterns, featuring – of course – Tilli Tomas yarns among the many fabulous materials she chose. (See our post about the Garden Party Cardigan here.)This is a great choice for anyone looking to branch out and expand their lace knitting chops, or make the most of that one special skein.
 Seamless Crochet
Seamless Crochet by Kristin Omdahl is another great book we’re delighted to be a part of. It features Tilli Tomas yarns in two patterns – a modern take on the crocheted scarf, and a traditional shawl. The shawl is a great take on lace for those of you who would rather hook-in than cast-on.

We got inspired by a recent Vogue Knitting ‘s newsletter showcasing Susan B. Anderson’s fabulous knit toys:
 Elefante
Her whimsical creations made us also think of Ysolda Teague‘s fabulous knit creatures:
We couldn’t think of a better kind of project for holiday gifts and keeping your inner child alive. Most of these projects call for a sock weight or DK yarn, so we recommend our Tilli Tomas SOCK. In a wide array of bright colors, it’s perfect for bringing these toys to life.
Excited to create your own fuzzy friend? Get started with Itty Bitty Toys or Ysolda’s creatures, and then have fun picking out your yarn here.

Kristen Omdahl is releaseing a new book featuring patterns with a theme relating to items that can be wrapped, whether around the neck, shoulders, or waist. All of the garments incorporate interesting elements, from reversible stitch patterns and unique knitted edgings to interesting closures. Each project is knitted, but much of the aesthetic draws inspiration from the geometry, motifs, and techniques of crochet.
Some of the techniques are quite unusual and readers will benefit from watching the enclosed DVD to see some of them demonstrated before casting on for a project. |
